Giggs amazes again.

Ryan Giggs #11
Ryan Giggs, born November 29, 1973, is a left footed virtuoso who if you've done the math is still playing top flight soccer at the age of *drum roll* 37!  Yesterday during the return leg of Manchester United's EUFA Champions League quarter final match Ryan Giggs continued to show why he's one of the greatest players of all time.
Ryan over the last few games has been moved to the middle of the pitch, not his normal left side.  He's been forced to play a lot more defense than he's had to in a long time and it shows at some points, but he's there and he's in position more times than not.  Playing out of position at this level isn't that impressive, what IS impressive is that Mr. Giggs at age 37 covered 11754 meters in the middle of the field over 90minutes, for the metrically challenged that's over 7 miles.  Ok no big deal he's a professional athlete, they all do that right?  Nope he covered the most ground out of any Manchester United player that day.  Fine I know lots of guys 37+ who can still run 7+ miles over 90 minutes, now you have to factor in that pesky little thing called...the ball.  Ryan completed 47/63 passes, that's 75% while being pressured in the midfield.  Manchester United won the match 2-1, and the man who has spent 20 years with the Red Devils, Ryan Giggs, assisted on both of those goals.  His hair may be starting to gray, but his play on the pitch continues to be pure gold for Manchester United.  Love them or hate them you have to respect the body of work and the continued play of Ryan Giggs.
